Getting Started with Pod2Vid

Blubrry Hosting customers with the Thrive Bundle add-on can now create simple, full-length videos of podcast episodes with just a few clicks using our new Pod2Vid feature!

Getting Started with Pod2Vid

  1. Navigate to Pod2Vid:
From the left-hand menu, select Episodes > Create Pod2Vid.
  2. Begin a New Video:
If this is your first time using Pod2Vid, you’ll only see a blue New Build button. In the future, this section will list all the videos you’ve created, but for now, click New Build to get started!
  3. Select an Episode:
You’ll see a list of your published episodes. If any are missing, go to Show > Manage and refresh your feed. This will pull all episodes from your podcast feed into the Blubrry Directory and populate the Episodes list. Then, return to Pod2Vid.
  4. Build the Video:
Next to one of your episodes, click Build Video.
After some processing (processing time varies based on episode length), a transcript will be generated, and you’ll need to specify the speakers. When ready, click Next to proceed.
  5. Customize the Video Look:
You’ll be able to make minor customizations to the video’s appearance. These options will expand as we continue refining Pod2Vid.
  6. Build Chapters:
Once satisfied with your customizations, click Build Chapters. Specify the maximum number of chapters you’d like in the video, then select Generate Chapters. Existing chapters will automatically import.
  7. Adjust Chapters and Add Media:
Pod2Vid will generate chapters based on your audio file, and you’ll have options to preview, adjust timing, add titles, images, and links. After finishing your adjustments, click Save Changes and then Build Video.Note on Images:
If you have images for your chapters, upload them here. We recommend using widescreen (16:9) images for optimal display on platforms like YouTube, and keeping file sizes under 2MB. If you don’t have images, use the built-in Unsplash search to find free, Creative Commons images.
  8. Finalize and Download:
Video generation may take some time. You’ll receive an email when it’s ready to download, so feel free to continue working or take a break.
  9. Upload Your Video:
Once notified, access your video from the Pod2Vid dashboard, where you can view, download, and even adjust the auto-generated description via Blubrry PAI. Upload your video to YouTube or social media, and you’re ready to go!
