You can import podcast episodes into WordPress using any valid podcast RSS feed. This is useful if you are moving to PowerPress from another podcast host or platform.
Before You Begin
Make sure PowerPress is installed and activated on your WordPress site.
You will also need the podcast RSS feed URL for the show you want to import.
Import Your Podcast RSS Feed
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- In the left sidebar, go to PowerPress > Import Podcast.
- Select Podcast RSS Feed.
- Paste your podcast RSS feed URL into the field provided.
- Choose the import options you want to use.
- Click the blue Import Podcast button.
Import Options
- Download and save iTunes image: Saves the artwork from your RSS feed to your PowerPress artwork settings.
- Overwrite podcast program information: Updates your PowerPress program information using the details from your RSS feed, even if information already exists in PowerPress.
- Allow duplicate episode titles and dates: Allows duplicate posts to be imported. You can remove duplicate or less accurate posts later from the WordPress Posts area.
- Include blog posts: Imports non-podcast blog posts from the feed in addition to podcast episode posts.
After the Import
Once the import is complete, review your imported posts and PowerPress settings to make sure everything looks correct.
- Check your imported episode posts in WordPress.
- Review your podcast information in PowerPress Settings.
- Confirm your episode titles, descriptions, artwork, and media URLs look correct.
Next Steps
If you are moving an existing podcast to PowerPress, redirect your old podcast feed to your new PowerPress feed after confirming the import looks correct.
See How to Redirect Your Podcast Feed for instructions.
