The Advanced tab provides additional configuration options and feature controls for PowerPress.
Most options in this section enable or disable optional features. When enabled, some features add new menu items or settings elsewhere in PowerPress.
Advanced Settings
- Multi-Program Mode: Allows you to publish multiple Blubrry-hosted podcasts from a single account.
- User Role Management: Enables role-based access so administrators, editors, and authors can create and manage podcast episodes using WordPress roles and capabilities.
- Import Podcast: Imports a podcast feed from another hosting provider such as SoundCloud, Libsyn, or PodBean.
- Migrate Media: Migrates existing podcast media files to Blubrry Podcast Media Hosting.
- Podcasting SEO: Adds options to help optimize how your podcast appears in search engine results.
- Audio Player Options: Enables configuration of available web-based audio players.
- Video Player Options: Enables configuration of available web-based video players.
- Disable Smart Typography: Prevents PowerPress from converting quotes and punctuation into “smart” typography in RSS feeds. Useful for services that require plain text punctuation.
- Custom Podcast Channels: Allows multiple media files and/or formats to be attached to a single post. Adds additional podcast channel configuration options.
- Category Podcasting: Enables podcasting for specific WordPress categories. When enabled, additional options appear in the left menu.
- PowerPress Playlist Player: Enables playlist creation for podcast episodes.
- PowerPress Network: Enables features for managing a network of podcasts.
- Allow JSON uploads: Allows uploading of JSON files, typically used for podcast chapter files.
- Show errors in Block Editor: Displays PowerPress-related errors when using the WordPress block editor.
- Disable server-side request forgery check: Disables validation checks used when media files are hosted locally or within a private network.
Media Statistics
The Stats Prefix section is used to configure a redirect or prefix URL for podcast media statistics.
This prefix is typically provided by your podcast statistics service and is prepended to your media file URLs for tracking downloads.
- Stats Prefix: Enter the redirect URL provided by your statistics service.
- Add Another Prefix: Adds additional prefix fields if needed.
- Remove Statistics from WordPress Dashboard: Hides statistics from the WordPress dashboard.
