Latest Episode Not Showing in Podcast Apps or Directories

After publishing a new episode, it’s normal to want it to appear in podcast apps right away. If your latest episode is not showing yet, don’t worry—this is usually expected behavior.

Note: In most cases, delays are not caused by an error. Podcast apps and directories update on their own schedule, which can take time.

What to Do If Your Episode Is Not Showing

1. Check Your Feed in a Podcast App

Subscribe to your podcast using your RSS feed in a podcast app.

If your latest episode appears there, your feed is working correctly. The delay is likely due to how often podcast apps refresh your feed.

2. Validate Your Podcast Feed

Use Cast Feed Validator to check your podcast RSS feed.

This tool can confirm whether your feed is accessible and formatted correctly. If there are no errors, your feed is functioning as expected.

3. Allow Time for Apps to Update

Podcast apps and directories such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and others typically check your feed periodically rather than instantly.

Most platforms update within 24 hours, but timing can vary depending on the service.

Tip: If your episode appears in your feed and passes validation, there is usually nothing else you need to do.

How Podcast Updates Work

Podcast RSS feeds use a “pull” system. When you publish a new episode, it is added to your feed, but podcast apps must check your feed to discover it.

Each app decides how often to refresh your feed. Some may check every few hours, while others may only check once per day.

This is why new episodes may appear at different times across different apps.
