Frequently asked questions for customers using Blubrry Podcasting services concerned about General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as it applies to their audience.

Are the services I use from Blubrry Podcasting GDPR compliant?

Yes. Blubrry does not store or report personally identifiable information of your audience.

Are you issuing an data/order processing contract?

No processing contract is necessary. We do not store or report personally identifiable information.

What information of our audience do you store and for what reason?

We process IP addresses and device information in order to determine podcast downloads/plays. This data is anonymized or pseudonymized prior to storing in our database.

Will the data be transferred to a third country? If so, which ones?

Data is gathered within the United States. No data is transferred outside of the United States.

If someone from the EU listens to a podcast, is the data stored and processed in the EU?

No. All Blubrry’s servers and and data processing is located in the United States.  No data is transferred outside of the United States.

Schrems II Confirms Validity of EU Standard Contractual Clauses, Invalidates EU–U.S. Privacy Shield. How can you be GDPR compliant?

In the Schrems II case, personal data was stored on servers in the EU and then exported to the United States. Blubrry does not have data logging or processing servers in the EU at this time. In the event Blubrry does setup servers in a country in the EU, such data would be processed in that country.

How is sensitive information stored? (What type or designation do you use for the level of data protection?)

We use anonymization and pseudonymization in order to obscure information.

When do you delete this data?

No sensitive information is stored therefore deletion is not necessary.
