Mel & Floyd’s Wisconsin Film Fest Spectacular
This week on Mel & Floyd Summer Replacement Show: The return of the annual Mel & Floyd Wisconsin Film Festival Spectacular, live from Four Star Video. The Wisconsin Film Fest kicked off earlier this week and runs through Thursday, April 14th.
We speak with Ben Reiser, Operations Director for the Fest, and musician Phil Cook, part of a documentary about the gospel group The Branchettes. We speak with Dana Pellebon, director of “Transaster,”a short film made by a student at an area high school about an intolerant high school volleyball captain, and Taylor Pipes, director of “Dairyland,” a portrait of a fourth generation family dairy farm.
Then we speak with two filmmakers with short films in a series for people devoted to “raunch and intellect,” Bulat Schamiloglu of “Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday” and Arielle Bordow of “Craigslist Roommate,” winner of a 2022 Golden Badger Jury Award. Finally, Four Star’s own Lewis Peterson caps off the festival with his picks for the festival.
Thanks to our guests for being on, Lewis and Robert from Four Star Video for hosting, and Ben and Karen from the Wisconsin Film Festival for making this broadcast possible. Also thanks to WORT volunteers “Super Dave,” Caylin, Shawn, and mindless minion D-Cubed. Aaron Scholz was your technical director for this remote broadcast, and Chali Pittman was your producer.
