The Workamper Show Podcast
In Episode 279, Jeff and Angela Warner describe Workamping and running a small business
Today I am interviewing a couple who grew tired of having to move frequently to meet the demands of their corporate jobs. So, they bought an RV and now operate a small business while they travel for fun and adventure.
Angela Warner is a former nurse and teacher. Her husband, Jeff, worked in a maintenance position at a pharmaceutical plant. Even though they tried to spice up their lives by moving every few years to a new location, they both grew tired of working up to 60 hours a week for their jobs.
Yet, even though the scenery was different, the work load was still demanding and left them with little time to pursue things they really enjoyed.
One Christmas, Jeff got Angela a gift that enabled her to start making vinyl cutouts, which she started selling on eBay. Soon her business took off as their house filled with more equipment. Eventually, she realized they could run their business from the road and travel to places they’ve always dreamed about visiting.
When they started RVing, the Warners were in a 35-foot travel trailer. They have since graduated into a motorhome and transformed the dining area slideout into a long work area for Angela.
She has discovered 3,500 different products she can make from the RV, many of which can be customized. They sell T-shirts, home décor, memorials and even RV decals. The Warners are exploring how to wrap cars and RVs as well.
In addition to running their business, Jeff and Angela do traditional Workamping jobs, such as working for campgrounds and state parks. It gives them free RV sites, and plenty of time to pursue a business while having fun, too.
The campgrounds love having them because the Warners can create unique, personalized products that can be sold in the camp store. At their current Workamping job, Angela created shirts for the state park’s 135 volunteers.
Jeff and Angela want to start a YouTube channel to teach couples how to maintain a healthy relationship with each other while living in a rather confined space and working on a business together.
They are gearing up for a busy summer participating in a variety of fairs and festivals as well as working for a private campground in California.

I’ll have that interview on the next episode of The Workamper Show. I hope you have a very enjoyable Memorial Day weekend marking the official start of the 2024 summer season. Thanks for listening!
