68. Our Complicated Relationship With Food

April 16, 2021

When it comes to health and fitness, there’s no topic more controversial or more complicated than which foods we should eat, and which we should avoid.
Some experts tell you this diet or that diet is the best one for everyone, or that it’s not about the food at all, it’s more a problem of willpower and self-control. Eat whatever you want, just eat less of it and exercise more and you’ll be fine.
I’ve come to realize that it’s just not that simple. We humans have evolved to have a very interesting and very complicated relationship with food.
Why is what we eat so complicated? What does this mean for us? And most importantly, what can we do about it?
In this episode, I share many of the reasons why our relationship with food is so complicated.
My hope is that by the end of this podcast, you’ll have a deeper understanding of this issue and be able to make more informed decisions about your own dietary choices.
