“The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover.“ – Jean Piaget
Notes & References:
• The opening sequence was shot in the Namibia desert. Edward’s valley with the trees is in Dead Vlei, Hardap, Namibia; the shipwreck is the “Eduard Bohlen Shipwreck” and is about 80 miles away along the Skeleton Coast. So with a helicopter you could definitely get those shots on the same day, and perhaps with a vehicle if the route is traversable.

Some links about schizophrenia worth perusing:
• Schizophrenia causes (NSH.uk) – “80% of people with schizophrenia do not have relatives with the condition. Schizophrenia likely results from a confluence of factors, some of which are only beginning to be understood.”
• Schizophrenia’s Strongest Known Genetic Risk Deconstructed (NIH.gov) – “schizophrenia is known to be as much as 90 percent heritable, yet discovering how specific genes work to confer risk has proven elusive, until now”
