Multiple Podcast2Radio Streams

Podcast2Radio is an automatic RSS-to-stream creator for further online exposure and audience gathering. But what if you’d like to have more than one stream? We have some options.

As you know, the key benefit of P2R is the access to platforms that are not focused on downloadable content. Currently, the default P2R stream creator is set to take your last three episodes and make them a continuous stream. The system constantly checks for updated episodes and refreshes the three most current, running them from latest to earliest.

However, if you’d like to change the RSS and schedule a new feed that has perhaps your ‘most popular shows’ or your ‘best of shows’ or maybe even a sequence of shows that are part of your overall podcast network, you can do that as well.

Follow the information below to choose a new sequence of shows for your stream.

Using PowerPress and WordPress
  1. Enable category podcasting in the PowerPress settings. (Checkbox near the bottom of the settings screen.)
  2. Set up a category for podcasting by going to the category podcasting menu below PowerPress. Enter your artwork and other information in the settings area, same as you did for your main feed.
  3. Set the three episodes you want to show in the feed to be in the category you have set up.
  4. Log into the Blubrry dashboard and click on “Add Another Podcast to Directory” and enter your new category feed.
  5. Email support@blubrry.com and ask that they make that listing private.
  6. Submit that feed to Podcast2Radio (or create a new stream using that feed address).
Platforms that are not PowerPress and WordPress
  1. Create another podcast the same way you created the first one with a new RSS feed containing the 3 episodes you want for your new stream.
  2. Log into the Blubrry dashboard and click on “Add Another Podcast to Directory” and enter your new category feed.
  3. Email support@blubrry.com and ask that they make it that listing private.
  4. Submit that feed to Podcast2Radio (or create a new stream using that feed address).

Because each P2R account will only allow for one continuous stream, you might also consider starting multiple P2R accounts to accommodate simultaneous streams. You might have your last three episodes in a stream, as well as a curated ‘best of’ stream, and/or a combination of shows from your podcast network.
