And at a foundational level, yes, of course changing your mindset does work to some degree. But for lasting change in any area of your life, we need to go a bit deeper than that.
Beyond your actions, thoughts and beliefs is your unconscious. This is where your unconscious patterns live, within your unconscious blueprint. And beyond that, we have your energy or frequency that you give out (or your vibe)...and beyond that consciousness.
This is why your need to embody changes rather than just understand them conceptually or think them with your conscious mind.
