Subscribe Tools enhanced! – (PowerPress exclusive feature): PowerPress 7.0 has expanded the subscribe tools to help you convert your Web visitors into podcast subscribers.
- Google Play Music added to subscribe page shortcode embed and sidebar widget
- Stitcher added to subscribe page shortcode embed and sidebar widget.
Destination Settings – We’ve organized all of the possible destinations for your podcast into one page for your convenience. Check your Destinations settings to verify your podcast is being syndicated to iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Blubrry and more!
Blubrry Audio Player – (A Blubrry exclusive):
Along with the new PowerPress, we’ve debuted a new and improved audio player that offers refined features and a fresh design. Any Blubrry hosting customer can embed this easy-to-use, flexible, and responsive player on their website. The new player has been built into the latest version of PowerPress, and features the ability to play content, plus additional features including social sharing, subscribing, downloading and a link to show notes.
Category Podcasting Improvements!
Category podcasting is a powerful feature which many PowerPress users utilize to create multiple podcasts from one website. With this update, category podcasting is now the most comprehensive way to publish multiple podcasts from one WordPress website.
New features include the following…
- Strict Category Podcasting – Select a specific category to each episode for statistics tracking and subscription links.
- Podcast only category feeds – You can now mix blog posts with podcast episodes in your podcast categories.
- Podcast feed import to category – Now you can import a podcast specifically to a WordPress category.
We did have to remove a couple features…
A couple of features have been removed. Hopefully no one will miss these features.
- Quicktime Embed option for m4a audio removed due to security concerns with Quicktime.
- SWF embed support dropped. We do not believe anyone was using this option.
