Sleep and mental health. Have you ever been so exhausted that your brain feels foggy, you feel sluggish and tired, you’re moody and it’s difficult to think clearly and handle your emotions?



There has been a lot of research around this topic, and we can confirm that Mental Health disorders tend to make it difficult for people to sleep well at the same time, poor sleep, including insomnia, can be a contributing factor to the beginning worsening of mental health problems. 



Sleep, Mental Health, and the Brain

Research shows that if you’re sacrificing sleep is linked to:



  • High blood pressure 
  • A weakened immune system 
  • Weight gain
  • A lack of libido 
  • Mood swings
  • Paranoia 
  • Depression and a higher risk of
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Heart attack 
  • Dementia and some cancers

Sleep is where the brain gets a chance to, reset and recover and prepare for the next day. Brain activity during sleep has an impact on our mental and emotional health.
