June 21, 2020

Thought patterns that keep you stuck…its so important that we start this conversation and this series here because everything we do begins and ends in the brain and with our thinking.

A quick fun fact about the brain and our thinking is that we have between 50,000-70,000 thoughts per day. 50,000-70,000 thoughts per day. That’s a lot of thinking. And the reality is, majority of our thoughts are negative in nature, they are the same thoughts that we had yesterday, dwelling on something in the past or worrying or fearing something bad to happen in the future.

So think about that……Are your thoughts, holding you back, keeping you stuck or pushing you forward.

Now think about that as it relates to money and financiers.

Let’s get into this conversation Joe:

Why is it so difficult for people to talk about money?

This question brings us to the discussion about thoughts patterns that could be keeping you stuck. Beliefs that are no longer serving you….

Essential Information:

Beliefs or a belief is jus/ are just thoughts that you continue to think. And the truth is your beliefs shape the outcome of your life.

Most people have non-supportive, fear-based beliefs about money, wealth and success that were developed by modeling influences like parents, friends, teachers, the media and even the internet.

So the first step is to become aware of your non-supportive, fear-based beliefs around money and wealth, and change them into more supportive beliefs.

For example: If you have a belief that rich people are greedy, stuck up or that making money means you’re taking from others, then you have put an energetic block or limitation on yourself from allowing money to flow in.

The good thing is, a belief is neither right or wrong….a belief is only a belief and because it is a thought that you continue to think, you CAN CHANGE A belief at ANYTIME, by CHANGING YOUR THINKING.

Practical Tips

Tip 1: Identify the mental block

Identify or write down any non-supportive, fear-based beliefs you have around money and see if you can identify where that thought pattern originated from….

Examples:

Fear-based or limited thought patterns would be:

Money is a limited resource and is only available for a certain group of people

* Only the people do those jobs will be rich or wealthy* Or you have to be born into wealth to have wealth* I can never make money doing this type of work, there’s only so much that this career can offer as it relates to my salary

Financial freedom mindset

There is an abundance of money available to everyone

Fear-based or limited thought patterns would be:

I can’t control if I become wealthy or not

* My family didn’t have much, so I probably won’t either

Financial freedom mindset

I create the life that I desire. I take consistent actions to create the things that I want

Tip 2: Write a new script

Turn your fear-based and limiting beliefs into freedom..

Write out a list of 5-10 fear-based or limiting beliefs that you have around money and create a financial freedom mindset list.

Tip 3: Repeat it
