An interesting fact, not only has the recent events of COVID 19 had an impact on us as humans but our animals and pets, have been affected by this transition and change as well. I think for people out there that have animals or pets, your animals are probably trying to figure out what in the world is going on. 

Unless you normally work from home, or maybe have a service animal that is with you constantly, your pets are probably not used to all the attention that they have been getting from the entire family since the stay at home orders have been in place. And depending on the type of pet you have, they may or may not be so excited that you’re around more often. 

So I think it’s important for us to be mindful, that not only is this a difficult time for us as humans but our pets and animals are making big adjustments as well.

They provide so much for us. Not only as a companion, but they can provide mental and emotional support as well. According to the numbers since COVID 19 there has been an increase in the adoption and the fostering of animals from the shelters. The Human-animal bond research institute out of Washington DC reported a spike in people talking about the special relationships they have with their animals and the benefits to their overall mental health, especially during this time.
