The Richmond Marathon, Half, and 8k took place in Richmond, Virginia, on November 12th. This was the 45th Anniversary of the race.
The Live Show
I had an opportunity to do a live interview with Keira D’Amato and Shawanna White. The crazy weather (tornado watch) delayed things and caused some chaos but I’m glad we were still able to make the live show happen.
Race Day in Richmond
My brother-in-law Timothy Haley ran the 8k and I ran the half marathon. On race day the skies were clear and it warmed up to around 74 degrees -which made the course challenging for many runners (myself included).
This was my 28th half marathon to date. I’m not a rookie but I did make the “rookie mistake” of forgetting my fuel and electrolytes at home. I bonked pretty hard after the race due to the heat. Listen to the podcast episode to hear Coach Angie and I discuss eight mistakes to be avoided on race day.
MTA Meet Up
We had a killer meet up at The Answer Pub with good beer and good company. 17 people total! Runners were there from Virginia, Ohio, Colorado, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Mississippi, and Oregon.
