Shout Out:
Hey MTA! I’m super happy to report that I ran the Tobacco Road Marathon yesterday and got a PR of over 2 minutes with a time of 3:55:03. It’s been almost 3 years since my last marathon and over four years since my first marathon. So finishing strong and happy, as well as getting a PR was cathartic for me. I’ve had a number of experiences in marathons and other races when I bonked or cramped up, unable to finish in my goal time. So I was nervous pretty much the whole time until mile 24 that it might happen again. But I trusted my legs and my training, stayed patient even when many people were passing me, and just executed my plan. Thank you to MTA for all the resources and for this community for all the inspiration to keep trying. Stephen
