I'll Have Another with Lindsey Hein Podcast

Episode 601: Grant Fisher on Making History with Two Olympic Bronze Medals
Really excited to bring you another track star on the podcast—Grant Fisher joins us today! Grant had the year of his life in 2024, bringing home two bronze medals from the Paris Olympics in both the 5,000m and the 10,000m. He made history as the first American ever to medal in both of those events at the same Olympic Games. Pretty incredible.
He also competed in the Tokyo Olympics, where he placed ninth in the 5,000m and fifth in the 10,000m. Since then, he’s continued to level up. Just this year, he ran three indoor races back-to-back-to-back: the 1500m, the 3000m, and the 5000m. In the process, he broke two WORLD RECORDS—in the 3000m and the 5000m—two weeks in a row.
Grant runs for Nike and is now gearing up for the Grand Slam series. You’ll catch him in Kingston this weekend, followed by the Miami Slam and the Philadelphia Slam, all leading into USA’s and hopefully the World Championships later this season.
It was a blast to get to know Grant—not just as an elite runner, but as someone who grew up in a super athletic family. He ran for Stanford and has two siblings who also compete at a high level, though in soccer. I’ve wanted to have him on the show for a long time, and if you heard my interview with Kara Goucher and Des Linden earlier this year, you might remember me saying, “I really want to interview Grant Fisher.” Well, here we are!
