What Is Your Intention?
How often have you run a meeting, facilitated a group conversation or workshop and there was 1 person who didn't like it or didn't resonate with it? I have - hundreds of times. And what I find interesting is that often we will tend to focus on the negative feedback, almost to the exclusion of anything else, which is not helpful. I am a huge believer in feedback as to drive performance improvement, and I'm also a huge believer in setting ourselves up for success before the conversation, or before the workshop. Hence we must get crystal clear on what our intention is.
