Sacred Healing 12:30
What Will Occur in the Major Chastisement
"Antichrist will be of Jewish extraction, of the tribe of Dan, will be circumcised, will rebuild Jerusalem and the Jewish temple, in which he will set himself up as God. Likewise he is to begin his work of seduction among the Jews who will accept him as their Messiah. Thus Irenaeus says of Antichrist: 'Jeremiah does not merely point out his sudden coming, but he even indicates the tribe from which he shall come, where he says, "We shall hear the voice of his swift horses from Dan--he shall come and devour the earth"' (Jer 8:16)." -1936 Catholic Encyclopedia

LOVE the Word™ is a Bible study method based on Mary's own practice: lectio without the Latin. This week's LOVE the Word™ exercise is based on a Ignatian* personality approach. Go on! Try it!
Listen (Receive the Word)
"These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have distress. But have confidence. I have overcome the world" (John 16:33).
Observe (Connect the passage to recent events.)
Jesus spoke these words after the Last Supper, after Judas' betrayal, just before he prays over the disciples for the last time. He is about to walk out into the darkness of the night to go to the Garden of Gethsemane.
Close your eyes and try to imagine the scene. What does the room look like? Where is everyone sitting? What do you smell, hear, feel against your skin, see, taste? What are the expressions on everyone's faces? What are you feeling as you hear these words from Jesus?
Verbalize (Pray about your thoughts and emotions.)
What are you thinking and feeling as you re-read Jesus' words, above? What do you want to say to Him about that?
Entrust (May it be done to me according to your word!)
"...and whether our tomorrows
be filled with good or ill,
we'll triumph through our sorrows
and rise to bless you still..." (O God Beyond All Praising)
.
*LOVE the Word™ exercises vary weekly according to the four personalities, or "prayer forms," explored in Prayer and Temperament, by Chester Michael and Marie Norrisey: Ignatian, Augustinian, Franciscan, and Thomistic. These prayer forms correspond to the Myers-Briggs personality types.
Eschatological Qualification
Catholic eschatology is what's called "speculative theology." This designation means little has been defined by the Magisterium concerning the end times, so the subject is open for speculation and development by Catholics seeking truth via Sacred Tradition (history) and Sacred Scripture. I attempt throughout the series to make clear what is public revelation and therefore part of the Deposit of Faith, and what is private revelation and not a matter of adherence. I do not present unapproved private revelation in this series.
