How to Break-Through in Creating an Energising Morning Routine

March 08, 2018

Do you have a similar, intentional, thought-out morning routine to start each day? Or do you tend to wing it, seeing success as managing to leave the house more or less on time with your shoes on more or less the correct feet?

In this week’s podcast we look at some ways to being an energising and health boosting morning routine into your daily habits.

Until my mid-twenties I never realised you could get up earlier than you “had to”. I had it down to a fine art. I worked out exactly how much time I needed to get up, get dressed, and get out the house to where I needed to be. Since being a kid I had assumed that “rush” was the default setting for the morning.

My outlook only changed when I stopped to consider the potential locked up in the early morning. It turns out, an intentional morning routine can make a huge difference. There are elements of design that you can bring into a morning routine to truly thrive. That strain and stress is happy to prevail if we let it.

In the show I unpack some tools to help create a morning routine that works for you. I don’t want to give you any “shoulds” or pretend that your circumstances are the same as mine. Rather, the idea of this episode is to give some guide to help you think about your own situation. You'll see how you can get back some control; to put your health back at the centre, and have something compelling to get up for each morning.

Slow down into your bedtime. Develop patterns and habits of relaxation. Make the bedroom a cosy environment without too much stimulation and busyness.
