#088: The Benefits and Struggles of Practicing Mindfulness [Podcast]
I’m no expert in mindfulness and meditation. I find it very hard to keep it up, especially when ‘life gets in the way’, but I seem to have been speaking about it a lot recently in various contexts. So I thought I would give some of my reflections on it and for those who have never done it, a simple introduction.
A Haven member recently posted something that really resonated with my own experience:
“There is just so much to read and find about (mindfulness), but I never could get myself doing it….Maybe it sounds weird; despite having read about it, I still don’t know how to do it.â€
Maybe you can relate to this
We can do so much reading and learning that we get overwhelmed to the point of inaction.
In this week’s episode I encourage you to just start without caring about ‘doing it wrong’ or not doing the right ‘kind’. We will learn as we go along, and work out what we’re doing when we do it.
Over to You
Question: Do you have experience with mindfulness? How do you transcend the feeling that you’re not ready to start? If you’ve not started but intend to, what is stopping you? Please leave your response in the comments below.
