  • Three teenagers from Innovation Academy, Fulton County, Georgia created an organization called SAVE, which stands for Substance Abuse Value Empathy




  • SAVE aims to promote prevention and treatment methods for substance abuse that are supported by facts, through their Instagram page and website




  • The three teens meet online or in person a couple of days a week to update their website and post on their Instagram




  • They are currently working on a book titled “The Path to Sobriety: A Guide to Overcoming Addiction and Finding Joy in Recovery”




  • The speakers discuss drug abuse, particularly among teenagers and emphasize the importance of spreading awareness about the long-term effects of drug abuse




  • The main factors contributing to drug abuse are peer pressure and being influenced by family members or friends




  • The speakers suggest that it is important to recognize your own self-worth and not feel pressured to do things that others are doing just to fit in




  • They recommend finding new friends if current friends are peer pressuring you and empowering parents to communicate with their teens about drug use




  • The speakers discuss various approaches for parents to handle their child’s drug use, including creating a safe space and non-judgmental environment for them to share their struggles




  • The speakers emphasized the importance of open communication between parents and children and recommended seeking support from the Save program and other resources on their website

ARNAV HAZARI

Co-founder of S.A.V.E.


Arnav Hazari is a 10th grader at Innovation Academy and one of the co-founders of the organization known as “S.A.V.E.”. Currently, he is in the healthcare and IT pathway. He enjoys helping people with their situations that they are struggling with. They created the website as a way to advocate for those who need help with drug usage, and even those who are struggling mentally. Arnav personally know many people who have struggled with these problems and its extremely frightening, which is why he is attempting to fight these problems.


AARYAN SATHISH

Co-founder of S.A.V.E.


Aaryan Sathish is an 11th Grader at Innovation Academy and one of the co-founders of S.A.V.E. He is also in the Healthcare and IT Pathway. Aaryan personally struggled with a substance issue for a short period of time. This affected his mental health and created trust issues with his family. Having a first-hand experience with a substance problem taught him that he needs to use his experiences and help friends, community, and anyone struggling to quit. Aaryan also wants to help prevent teenagers like himself going through the same issues he did, which is why he is so passionate about this topic.


ARJUN SURESH

Co-founder of S.A.V.E.


Arjun Suresh is a 10th Grader at Innovation Academy and one of the co-founders of S.A.V.E. He is also in the Healthcare/IT Pathway. Arjun has always tried helping people no matter the situation and strive to ensure that this program will help people and be heard throughout the world.
