Cracking Jokes Through Cancer with Comedian Michael Shafar
Michael Shafar is a glass half full kind of guy who's such a good comedian, he's been able to make his own harrowing battle with cancer funny.
In 2017, Michael was busy making his mark as a stand up comic, when he made the costly decision to ignore one of his testicles growing to more than double the size of the other.
By the time he went to the doctor, the testicular cancer had already spread throughout his body and he was only given a 50% chance of making it.
But he was determined to make the most of that chance and never stopped performing throughout the grueling rounds of chemo.
Comedy gives him purpose and surviving cancer has given him plenty of material.
Michael's been in and out of remission and still isn't totally out of the woods, but he's not letting that hold him back.
