Severe Weather in the Southern High Plains; Dangerous Heat in the West - Isolated strong to severe storms will be possible over a portion of the southern Plains Tuesday afternoon. Other strong storms might occur over the Middle Atlantic region and heavy rain may result in flash flooding over the central Appalachians. A dangerous heat wave is forecast this week for much of central and northern California.
