- The Internal Revenue Service on Friday announced they are delaying new tax-reporting requirements for millions of Americans who made more than $600 of income from e-commerce platforms such as Ebay, Etsy and AirBnB.
- The one-year reprieve means that said e-commerce platforms will not give the tax agency information on users whose income exceeds the $600 level, nor will they be required to provide sellers with a blizzard of 1099-k tax forms in early 2023. As the Wall Street Journal notes, this also means that opponents of the $600 rule can push for a change in the law next year.
-
- The rule was set to affect millions of gig workers who are independent contractors and haven’t been reporting income on their tax returns. What’s more, the law didn’t differentiate between people running a business, and those who are “casual” sellers who are cleaning out closets and attics.
- What’s more, the gross revenue on the form isn’t necessarily all income depending on the cost basis of the items being sold, or whether the items were inherited and are now worth less than their value on the date of the death.

RUSSIA CLOSE TO LEGALIZING INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN BITCOIN, CRYPTO: HEAD OF FINANCE COMMITTEE
- The head of the State Duma finance committee reportedly said Russia will legalize the use of cryptocurrency for international trade in January 2023.
- “In January, we want to legalize cryptocurrencies to ensure foreign trade activities,” Aksakov said, per a translated version of the report.
- The chairman highlighted that although Russia is taking steps to allow bitcoin and cryptocurrency payments for imports, there are no plans to encourage similar usage of the burgeoning assets within the boundaries of the nation’s territory.
- “The circulation of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment on the territory of Russia will be prohibited, and liability will be prescribed in this regard,” he reportedly stated. “But to pay for foreign trade transactions, we still assume the possibility of using cryptocurrencies, for example, for parallel imports.”

U.S. Military Branch May Ban ‘Ma’am’ and ‘Sir’ to Stop Recruits from Misgendering Officers
- The Woke military is considering a new policy that would establish its place among all militaries as the laughing stock of the world.
- According to a new $2 million report commissioned by the Corps from the University of Pittsburgh, the U.S. Marines are considering a ban on recruits calling senior members “sir” or “ma’am” to avoid “misgendering” or offending them.
- The 738-page study on “gender integration” in the military was first commissioned in 2020. The study is intended to recommend policies that would ease natural tensions and conflicts that come from putting young males and females in close quarters.
- “Employing gender-neutral identifiers eliminates the possibility of misgendering drill instructors, which can unintentionally offend or cause discord,” the study said.

- Ian Millhiser wrote in Vox about the possibility of Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan retiring early so to make sure that Republicans aren’t able to fill their seats.
If Sotomayor and Kagan do not retire within the next two years, in other words, they could doom the entire country to live under a 7–2 or even an 8–1 Court controlled by an increasingly radicalized Republican Party’s appointees…
- Liberal Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer retired earlier in Biden’s term allowing Democrats to replace him with Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Arizona Governor Agrees to Remove Shipping Containers Erected to Shore up Border Wall
- They were never going to completely solve the issue of border security for Arizona, but the shipping containers placed along the border in the Yuma sector pursuant to Governor Doug Ducey’s executive order are coming down. The outgoing Republican governor issued the order in August directing the state’s Department of Emergency and Military Affairs to erect the barrier in an effort to plug some of the gaps in the border wall.
- Following Ducey’s announcement regarding the order, the Biden Administration sent a letter to the state demanding removal of the containers, asserting that several of them were placed on land belonging to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the Cocopah Indian Tribe’s West Reservation.
- Arizona responded by suing the Biden Administration.
Per The Week:
By agreeing to stop building the barrier and removing “all previously installed shipping containers and associated equipment, materials, vehicles, and other objects” by Jan. 4, Ducey avoids a federal restraining order or other court action on behalf of the federal government. Ducey is leaving office on Jan. 5. Incoming Governor-elect Katie Hobbs (D) has called the container barrier a waste of taxpayer money.

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump
- The FBI has just confirmed that it has paid MILLIONS OF DOLLARS to Twitter, and also that large amounts of money has been paid by them to other Social Media Companies, which has all, when put together, shown massive campaign fraud in the 2020 Election. The FBI said they were working with private companies, but what they didn’t say was that it was for the purpose of changing the Election results, pushing Biden over “Trump.” Wow!

- While taken separately, each one may appear to be relatively benign. Scratch the surface, however, and what you find is a full-fledged effort to “change America’s gun culture,” and more nefariously, to track nearly one billion firearms in the United States, including providing this sensitive data to foreign governments.
- “In the ATF’s FY 2023 appropriations request, the agency asked for $14,400,000 to modernize the National Tracing Center [NTC], which is the branch that maintains, accesses, and searches ATF’s digital and searchable gun registries,” GOA notes. “This funding would ‘[i]ncrease[] by more than 40% the funding for the National Tracing Center.”
- The ATF reveals how the system will be modernized: “This initiative to consolidate firearms tracing applications through an eTrace modernization effort with enhanced data sharing capabilities will serve as a key building block in significantly improving the operational proficiency of the NTC Division.”
- As GOA explains, “This data sharing technology will upgrade ATF’s gun registry, after which the National Tracing Center will be able to more effectively search the 920,664,765, and growing, records in the registry and create a door-to-door confiscation list of Americans who lawfully purchased these newly banned firearms, such as AR-15 pistols.”
- Even more problematic for this harrowing picture, the ATF also proposes that this enhanced gun registry will not only be useful for American law enforcement, but also for the many “foreign law enforcement agencies (including Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, most of Central America, parts of Western Europe, Australia, and Japan) utilizing eTrace” to search for Americans’ registered firearms.

- “Since the beginning of this year, North Korea has repeatedly launched missiles at an unprecedentedly high frequency, significantly increasing tensions on the Korean Peninsula and in the region,” Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said Friday evening, adding that Tokyo had protested the move via Pyongyang’s embassy in Beijing.
