Schumer: We Want to Take Tariff Authority from Trump We Allowed Biden to Have Because Trump’s ‘Going So Overboard’

  •  Chuck Schumer (D-NY) r  “Congress has always had the power to deal with tariffs, and we’ve always had these fights in the past on some of the tariff issues as well. But now that Trump is going so overboard, Congress can, has every legal authority to take those powers back, and that’s what we aim to do.”

  • China is the world’s largest car producer and exporter. A little-known fact is that China first became the world’s largest car exporter back in 2023, with low-cost EV companies BYD and Chery in the spotlight. The nation’s auto sector has been steadily expanding since then, with Chinese brands reaching an all-time high of 69.4% of domestic passenger vehicle market share in Q1 2025.

ChinaAutoExportsbyCountry

  • Overall, China exported 5.86 million vehicles in 2024, a 19.3% annual increase. Mexico, Russia, Brazil, and the UAE were the top buyers. China sold 4.96 million passenger vehicles (19.7% YoY increase), 900,000 commercial vehicles (17.5% YoY increase), and 1.28 million new energy vehicles, as well as 987,000 battery-electric vehicles.
  • Japan is the world’s second-largest car exporter, exporting 4.22 million vehicles in 2024. This marked a -4.5% decline from 2023. Toyota remains Japan’s leading vehicle, accounting for $312.28 billion in revenue and 830,048 million vehicles.
  • Germany is holding onto third place in auto exports. In 2024, Germany exported 3.4 million passenger cars, marking a 2.5% annual increase. Around 25.9% of all vehicles exported from Germany last year were electric. Volkswagen Group remains Germany’s star, generating $354.86 billion in revenue for the year.

Scott Bessent Reminds China They Need Access To US Market Far More Than America Needs Access To Their Economy

  • Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned that China’s decision to retaliate against President Donald Trump’s tariffs will ultimately backfire.
  • China announced it is raising tariffs on American goods from 34% to 84% in response to Trump hiking tariffs on Chinese goods from 54% to 104%,   Bessent  thats because China exports far more to the U.S. than it imports, it has more to lose in a trade war.

  • China exported $438.9 billion worth of goods to the United States in 2024 while the U.S. exported $143.5 billion to China, according to the U.S. Trade Representative. Consumer spending in America makes up nearly 70% of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP), according to J.P. Q

Will Trump End The Fed Or Put Himself In Charge Of It?

  • On February 18, 2025 President Trump issued an executive order titled, “Ensuring Accountability for all Agencies,” in which he says,

…previous administrations have allowed so-called “independent regulatory agencies” to operate with minimal Presidential supervision. These regulatory agencies currently exercise substantial executive authority without sufficient accountability to the President, and through him, to the American people.

  •  Trump’s team is doing the best it can in an environment hostile not only to him personally but to the principles of good faith and trust. In reading the executive order we find that,
  • …all executive departments and agencies, including so-called independent agencies, shall submit for review all proposed and final significant regulatory actions to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) within the Executive Office of the President before publication in the Federal Register.
  • Superficially, it sounds good but wait—it said “all.” Does he mean it? “This order shall not apply to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System or to the Federal Open Market Committee in its conduct of monetary policy.” We think of the president as the Chief Executive, but a hands-off-the-Fed approach tells us otherwise.
  • For the moment the Fed might be untouchable. But its creator was the state, and all it takes is courage to do away with it, which is why it’s been wreaking havoc for over a century.
  •  .

Iran’s Foreign Minister Says Tehran Is Ready To Work With US Toward a Deal

  • Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in an op-ed published by The Washington Post on Tuesday that Iran was ready to reach a deal with the US on its nuclear program and said the “ball is now in America’s court.”
  • Araghchi and President Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, will hold negotiations in Oman this Saturday. Trump claims that the negotiations will involve direct talks, while Araghchi insists that they will be indirect, meaning that mediators will pass messages to either side.

  • He said Tehran was willing to reaffirm the pledge it made when the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the JCPOA, was signed, that “under no circumstances will Iran ever seek, develop or acquire any nuclear weapons.”

Russia Says It Won’t Have to Defend Iran in Win for Trump

  • Moscow has said it was not obliged to help Iran under a potential U.S. attack after President Donald Trump warned Tehran against getting a nuclear weapon.
  •  , Trump said the U.S. was having direct talks with Tehran over its nuclear program which western countries fear will lead to it developing a weapon. Tehran, which says its program is for peaceful purposes, said the meeting in Oman would be through an intermediary.

the Russia-Iran partnership, while close, lacks a formal mutual defense pact. The Iranian-Russian Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, signed in January 2025 between Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, deepened military and economic ties—evidenced by Iran supplying Shahed drones to Russia for use in Ukraine.   this treaty does not include a clause requiring Russia to militarily defend Iran if attacked. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko explicitly highlighted this on April 8, 2025, noting that the strategic partnership does not mandate military assistance in such scenarios. This reflects a deliberate choice by Moscow to keep its commitments flexible, avoiding entanglement in a direct U.S.-Iran conflict.

No, Democrats, Trump Didn’t Kill Drug Research — Here’s What Actually Happened at the NIH

  • Democrats are up in arms, accusing President Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) of gutting drug research funding.
  • Social media is flooded with dramatic claims—photos of sick children, stories of desperate patients—each suggesting that Trump has cut off their last hope. The truth, however, is far less dramatic.
  • The Trump administration has indeed pushed aggressive cost-cutting across federal agencies, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which funds a large share of America’s drug research. But contrary to the headlines, there’s no blanket halt on medical research—far from it.

  • Studies continue under other federal programs and through robust private funding, supporting everything from cancer breakthroughs to rare disease therapies.
  • What the administration has done is implement targeted policies—like capping overhead costs and temporarily pausing some grant reviews—that have caused confusion, delays, and loud complaints from researchers and critics, but they haven’t shut down research altogether.
  • Here’s the real story: In February 2025, the NIH proposed capping “indirect costs”—expenses like lab maintenance and utilities—at 15%, down from the usual 27–30%.
  • That move would cut about $4 billion annually from the $9 billion typically allocated for such costs within the NIH’s $35 billion grant budget (based on 2023 figures, adjusted slightly for 2025).
  • Universities and hospitals quickly sounded the alarm, warning of layoffs and stalled projects. Then, on March 5, 2025, a federal judge in Boston issued a nationwide injunction, blocking the cuts after 22 Democratic-led states and research groups filed suit, citing bipartisan legislation that protects NIH funding.
  • As of April 3, the proposed cap remains tied up in court—no reductions have taken effect.
  • Meanwhile, shortly after Trump’s inauguration, the NIH temporarily froze most grant-review meetings, stalling roughly $1.5 billion in new research funding (Nature, February 2025).
  • This wasn’t a budget cut—it was a bureaucratic slowdown triggered by new oversight protocols.

  • The rollback affected certain mental health drug trials and overdose countermeasure efforts, but it didn’t touch the NIH’s core operations.

  • In the meantime, drug research continues at full speed. The NIH’s $47 billion budget for FY 2025—including $7.2 billion for the National Cancer Institute and $2.2 billion for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)—remains intact.

Trump Drops the Hammer on Big Pharma — MASSIVE Tariffs Incoming! (VIDEO)

  •  Trump announced  that his administration will soon impose major tariffs on foreign-made pharmaceuticals, forcing drug companies to bring their operations back to U.S. soil where they belong.
  •
  • For years, Big Pharma has been shipping jobs overseas, cutting costs while American families pay the price.

  • President Trump’s proposed tariffs promise to flip that script. With most pharmaceutical companies relying heavily on the U.S. market for profit, Trump is betting they’ll have no choice but to bring manufacturing home, creating jobs and ending dependence on hostile foreign nations like China.
  • Trump:

“We’re going to do something that we have to do: we’re going to tariff our pharmaceuticals. And once we do that, they’re going to come rushing back into our country, because we’re the big market. The advantage we have over everybody is that we’re the big market.

[DS] Agenda

Grassley, Johnson Release New Records Detailing Bogus ‘Arctic Frost’ Investigation Which Formed Basis of Jack Smith’s Probe

  • Republican Senators Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson  released new records detailing the FBI and DOJ’s sweeping investigation that formed the basis of Jack Smith’s DC case against President Trump.

  • According to the documents released last month, the FBI and DOJ weaponized their power to target President Trump, former Vice President Mike Pence, and their allies through a probe dubbed “Arctic Frost.”

  • “Operation Arctic Frost” was a taxpayer-funded witch hunt launched in April 2022 that seized government-issued cell phones belonging to Trump and Pence while conducting a barrage of interviews across the country.
  • The FBI did not require a warrant to take possession of government phones from the Biden White House. However, after securing the devices, agents began preparing a search warrant to access their data,
  • The senators claim anti-Trump FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Timothy Thibault violated FBI protocols—specifically the “No Self-Approval Rule”—to kickstart the investigation, which later turned into Special Counsel Jack Smith’s bogus lawfare case against Trump, relying on fabricated justifications, including the absurd claim that Trump and his associates had engaged in “fraudulent” activities related to the 2020 election.
  • The whistleblower documents detailed how the FBI aggressively pursued over 50 subpoenas, secretly gathered records from more than 100 different facilities and email accounts, and conducted a second wave of interviews across multiple states in their attempt to form a case against Trump and his inner circle.

  • Newly-disclosed FBI emails provided by legally protected whistleblowers show:

  1. Officials in the Biden White House, including then-White House Deputy Counsel Jonathan Su, personally assisted the FBI in securing the government cell phones of President Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence. The cell phones were acquired before Trump was formally added as a subject of the investigation.
  2. Prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C. – including U.S. Attorney Thomas Windom, who later joined Jack Smith’s team as a main attorney – coordinated extensively with FBI agents in the Washington Field Office to plan, approve and execute Arctic Frost.
  3. Further evidence anti-Trump FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) Timothy Thibault played a central role in opening and advancing the Arctic Frost investigation, despite other agents’ concerns that the evidence only supported a limited preliminary investigation.

Remember Walz’s ‘Shadow Government’ Comment? Now Schiff and ‘Shadow Hearing’ Turns Reality on Its Head

  • So what are Democrats doing, now that they are out of power, that they don’t have the White House, the House, or the Senate?

  • Remember when Walz said that they should employ a “shadow government” to confront Trump’s moves?
  • Well, it looks like Democrats are going for that option.
  •   Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) actually held a “shadow hearing” — even NPR was terming it that — despite not having the power to call real hearings since they’re not in the majority. There were no Republicans present. The hearing had all the validity of a Milli Vanilli knockoff.

  • Schiff claimed they were there to conduct “real oversight,” but all they’re doing is play-acting for their base while they’re desperate and flailing.
  •  Isn’t it Trump and the Republicans who were elected by the people? Who is the one who is the “shadow” here? It isn’t Trump. People voted for him. What they didn’t vote for was for the Democrats to control the three branches. They voted for the Republicans in a sound rejection of the Democrats.

Another Fed Op? Former CIA Officer Says Ryan Routh Was Almost Certainly Speaking with FBI Agent Before Attempted Trump Assassination — There is NO WAY to Justify Him Getting on Golf Course with Rifle

  •  new court documents were released that reveal would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh was in talks to purchase a Stinger Missile to take out Trump here in the US.
  • A Stinger missile reportedly costs from $119,000 to $120,000.
  • A Stinger missile costs anywhere from $50,000 to $80,000 on the black market.

  • So, where did Ryan Routh get all of his funding?

  • So, who was running Ryan Routh?
  • And why was he not arrested in July if he was plotting to kill the former president in Pennsylvania and was attempting to purchase an illegal Stinger missile?
  • Holy smokes!

  • The feds were likely involved with Routh for many months. But they DID NOT stop him from planting himself in the bushes at a Trump Palm Beach course where he waited to kill the president.
  • The FBI needs to come clean.

In other words……in order to protect the future of our Constitutional Republic, Justice Barrett took one for team.

Sometimes you need to ‘take one for the team publicly’ before you are vindicated as a hero.

Sometimes you must SACRIFICE yourself for the greater good.
