NY Times: ‘Stable Jobs with Decent Pay’ Harder to Find Due to Mass Immigration

  • Mass immigration makes finding “stable jobs with decent pay” harder for Americans, especially those in the working class, the New York Times admits.
  • In an analysis of the Labor Department’s latest jobs report, which showed that about 199,000 jobs were created in November, the New York Times suggested President Joe Biden’s policy to import as many foreign workers as the business lobby requests hurts Americans looking for high-paying jobs with good benefits.
  • “That influx of workers, which includes a recovery in immigration flows, has also taken the air out of wage increases and made it more difficult for people on the margins of the labor market to find stable jobs with decent pay,” the Times reports:

Missing from the Times analysis is the number of working-age Americans who have dropped out of the labor market altogether as Biden imports a historic number of foreign workers to fill United States jobs.

  • Notably, Center for Immigration Studies Director of Research Steven Camarota estimates that more than 44 million native-born Americans remain on the labor market sidelines — not including the millions of native-born Americans counted in monthly unemployment figures.

California Facing Record $68 Billion Deficit, Potential ‘Fiscal Budget Emergency’: Legislative Analyst

  • Because of a “severe revenue decline,” California is facing a $68 billion budget deficit that could accumulate to more than $155 billion over the next five years, according to the most updated projection released Dec. 7 by the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s Office.

  • Budget problems arose after income tax collections dropped 25 percent in the fiscal year 2022–2023—which ended June 30—compared to the year before, according to the report by the Legislative Analyst’s Office.

  • “Governor Newsom and Democrat lawmakers turned a $100 billion surplus into a $68 billion deficit in just 2 years,” Senate Minority Leader Brian W. Jones (R-San Diego) said in a Dec. 7 press release. “Even more alarming, the five-year deficit forecast is an astounding $155 billion, thanks to the overspending Democrats jammed into the last few budgets.”

Bidenflation Right Before Your Eyes

  • Like tens of millions of other Americans, my wife and I know this all too well. And like most Americans dismayed by inflation, the grocery store is where we are most frequently reminded of “Bidenflation.” With this in mind, I took it upon myself to do a bit of research.

More than a third of consumers are so sick of inflation they’re willing to risk a recession to get lower prices

  • It’s no secret that most US households are sick and tired of high prices.
  • While the increases have slowed substantially in recent months, the prior years of elevated inflation are now baked into the cost of everything from food to furniture.
  • Household incomes have gone up too, but some common baskets of groceries now cost 25% more than they did before the pandemic, taking a lot of the wind out of those gains.
  • The sticker shock is now so bad that nearly twice as many consumers would prefer to see prices come down than those who want to see their income increase, according to a recent Morning Consult analysis.
  • But here’s the thing: Across-the-board price drops usually mean a recession, which is, uh, not good.

Most Americans feel the economy is in recession despite strong job market, steady growth: survey

  • Nearly six in 10 Americans feel like the U.S. economy is currently in a recession despite avoiding the sharp downturn widely predicted by economists last year, according to a recent Bankrate survey.
  • This holds true across generations and income levels, the survey found. Generation X and Millennials were the most likely to say that the economy is in a recession, at 65 percent and 60 percent respectively.
  • However, Baby Boomers and Generation Z were not far behind, with 58 percent and 55 percent each saying the economy is currently in a downturn, according to the Bankrate survey conducted in late October with 2,404 U.S. adults.
  • Nearly equal portions of lower-income households — those making less than $50,000 — and higher-income households — those making more than $100,000 — also said they feel the economy is in a recession.
  • However, economists are much more optimistic about the state of the U.S. economy now compared to a year ago, when many were predicting a recession in the face of sky-high inflation and rising interest rates.

Missouri AG Andrew Bailey Sues Media Matters for Violating State Consumer Protection Laws and Defrauding Missourians

  • Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey launched an investigation into Media Matters for America on Monday, December 11, 2023.
  • AG Andrew Bailey accused Media Matters of using fraud to solicit donations from Missourians in order to bully advertisers.
  • Attorney General Andrew Bailey made this explosive accusation, “We have reason to believe Media Matters used fraud to solicit donations from Missourians in order to bully advertisers into pulling out of X, the last platform dedicated to free speech in America.”
  • The Missouri Attorney General did not hold back in his attacks on Media Matters alleging the enemies of free speech, like Media Matters for America, are attempting to kill Twitter-X because they cannot control it now that Elon Musk took over. Bailey added, “I’m fighting to ensure progressive tyrants masquerading as news outlets cannot manipulate the marketplace in order to wipe out free speech.”
  • What’s not to love?

Things You Find in “Civilian” Gaza Homes: AKs, RPGs, Grad missiles, Combat Gear and Pictures of Kidnapped Israelis

  •
  • 58% of Americans support Israel’s war on Hamas, the Wall Street Journal found, but only 17% of Democrats, who seem increasingly out of touch with the nation. IDF raided a Hamas compound overnight, where they located 250 rockets, shells, and rocket-propelled grenades. Major Roy Yanovsky posted pictures of what you can find in a typical Gaza home.
  • 58% of Americans expressed the belief that Israel is taking necessary military measures to defend itself and prevent potential attacks by Hamas, the Wall Street Journal survey found.  Only 25% think Israel’s military actions are disproportionate.

  • 42% of participants indicated greater sympathy toward the Israeli people, while only 12% expressed similar sentiments toward the “Palestinians.”  24% of Democrats expressed greater sympathy for “Palestinians,” while 17% leaned towards the Israelis, and 48% claimed equal sympathy for both groups. 69% of Republicans showed more sympathy for Israelis, with only 2% favoring “Palestinians” and 17%  sympathizingwith both groups.
  •  Israeli Defense forces raided a Hamas compound overnight, where they located 250 rockets, shells, and rocket-propelled grenades, as well as other weapons and military equipment. Troops also struck a weapon production factory where they located hundreds of grenades, rockets, and M72 LAW rockets (light anti-tank weapons).

  1. “The answer is becoming clear: over the past 15 years, Hamas has been using hospitals, schools, mosques, and all other civic institutions as a cover for storing and operating weapons against Israel,” according to Jewish Press. “On Monday, the fighters of the Nahal Brigade located a training facility for RPG shooting hidden inside a mosque in the heart of a civilian neighborhood in Jabaliya, with a stock of grenades, cartridges, and various types of weapons. The IDF clarified that some of the weapons were found in bags belonging to a civilian organization operating in the Gaza Strip.”
  2. “There are no civilian organizations in Gaza – every institution and the vast majority of the people have been turned since 2007 into a kind of North Vietnam, where everybody is either part of the fight or a traitor,” Jewish Press writes. “Even the Hamas tunnels were modeled after the tunnels of Củ Chi, an immense network of connecting tunnels located in the Củ Chi District of Ho Chi Minh City, which were part of a much larger network of tunnels that underlie much of the country.”

Biden In Sudden About-Face: Israel ‘Losing Support’ Due To ‘Indiscriminate Bombing’

  • In a sudden about-face, President Biden in a speech on Tuesday began aggressively criticizing Israel and the Netanyahu government for the first time since the Oct.7 Hamas terror attacks.
  • Calling the Israeli prime minister a “good friend” – Biden said “I believe he has to change” as the government in Israel and the ongoing military campaign which has killed many is “making it very difficult for the world.”
  •
  • He underscored that while the US stands with Israel and will continue supporting its counter-terror operations, “They’re starting to lose that support’ due to indiscriminate bombing.”
  • He continued by saying the “world is looking at Israel” – a reference to its increasing isolation on a global stage over the soaring death toll (Palestinian sources have cited a death toll surpassing 17,700) before laying down a rare ultimatum of sorts. Biden said that Netanyahu can’t say “no” to a Palestinian state in the future.
  • Biden’s words appeared to be in direct response to statements of Netanyahu from Monday. The Israeli leader pledged that his administration would block an US proposed postwar plan to have the Palestinian Authority take over Gaza.
  • The two leaders are now very openly at odds on strategy concerning the ongoing Gaza operation, ironically after the US has given Israel over $3 billion annually in foreign and defense aid.

  •

  • Is Biden changing tune because he’s losing his Liberal base, amid strong Trump polling, going into the 2024 election?

Banks: Cut Off College Donations from China, Defund Schools that Don’t Protect Jewish Students

  •  Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) called for Harvard, Penn, and MIT to lose federal funding if the House’s investigation finds they aren’t providing a safe environment for students and to cut off donations from adversaries like China flowing into schools.
  • Banks said that former UPenn President Liz Magill resigned because the school lost money and “hopefully MIT and Harvard hear from their donors as well. This is all about money for them. And that’s why the House Education Committee last week, under Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), our Chair’s leadership, launched a further investigation into these schools. We’re going to subpoena their records, their emails, any documents, anything that proves that these universities aren’t creating a safe environment for their Jewish students. And if they aren’t, then we’re going to pull their federal funding. That’s the bottom line, if it’s about the money to get these universities to do the right thing, then they could not just lose major donations, but lose the federal funding that makes these universities work. That’s the next big step.”

To fight antisemitism on campuses, we must restrict speech

  • The testimony of three university presidents before a House committee last week provoked outrage after they suggested that calls on their campuses for Jewish genocide might not have violated their schools’ free speech policies. One of them, Liz Magill, was forced to step down on Saturday as president of the University of Pennsylvania, where I am a faculty member.
  • But their statements shouldn’t have come as a surprise. Congress could have assembled two dozen university presidents and likely would have received the same answer from each of them.
  • This is because the value of free speech has been elevated to a near-sacred level on university campuses. As a result, universities have had to tolerate hate speech — even hate speech calling for violence against ethnic or religious minorities. With the dramatic rise in antisemitism, we are discovering that this is a mistake: Antisemitism — and other forms of hate — cannot be fought on university campuses without restricting poisonous speech that targets Jews and other minorities.

America First Legal Sues HHS and FDA for Illegally Concealing Documents on Government Suppression of Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin to Treat COVID-19

  •   America First Legal (AFL) has sued the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for illegally concealing government records related to the suppression of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and ivermectin to treat COVID-19.
  • Last year, AFL filed Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to obtain documents to determine when and why government officials, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, decided to discourage and suppress the use of HCQ and Ivermectin to treat or mitigate COVID-19 symptoms. HHS and the FDA have failed to turn over these documents.

where are records and videos–Jack Smith’s plan is to try to reconvince the country Trump was responsible for what happened. The point of searching Trump’s phones, esp related to when Twitter was open, is to show how he could have sent tweets sooner to settle the crowd.

Smith will drag out the well-worn “187 minutes” concocted by J6 committee to demonstrate how Trump lured the crowd to the Capitol. He tipped his hand in a motion filed last week. Trump’s lawyers asked for voluminous discovery from numerous agencies incl Capitol Police and FBI. Smith opposed the request–insisting police were “victims.”

Smith also opposed Trump’s request for info on undercover agents (possibly hundreds from several agencies) and informants. Judge Chutkan undoubtedly will acquiesce to Smith so he can focus only on Trump and conceal law enforcement/intel failures that were either intentional or unintentional–or a combination of both. Special Counsel Jack Smith Asks Supreme Court to Decide Trump Immunity – Highest Court Immediately Drops All Business to Comply With Special Counsel Request

  •
  • Special Prosecutor Jack Smith jumped over the appeals court and asked the Supreme Court to decide on President Trump’s position of presidential immunity for his requests to secure the integrity of the 2020 election while in office.   In the fastest turn around time in history, the Supreme Court [Robert’s office] said yes, they will hear the arguments.

  •  Special counsel Jack Smith is urging the Supreme Court to urgently resolve Donald Trump’s claim that he’s immune from prosecution for charges related to his bid to subvert the 2020 election.
  • Without the Supreme Court’s swift intervention, Trump’s trial could be indefinitely delayed, the special counsel warned in a petition to the high court on Monday.
  • That’s because the trial, scheduled to begin March 4, is effectively suspended while Trump pursues his appeal of the trial judge’s ruling rejecting his immunity arguments, Smith wrote. Resolution of the novel legal question is necessary to ensure the case proceeds “promptly,” he argued.
  • By coming directly to the Supreme Court, Smith is hoping to bypass a federal appeals court and is mounting an aggressive bid to keep the timing of the election-focused trial on track. If the March 4 trial date sticks, it would be the first trial for Trump in the four criminal cases he is facing as he mounts a bid for re-election to the White House.
  • […] The justices acted quickly on Smith’s motion. In a brief order Monday afternoon, they directed Trump’s lawyers to respond by Dec. 20 to the prosecutor’s request for the Supreme Court to add the case to its docket for this term. (read more)
