Did you know that Thanksgiving is responsible for the invention of TV dinners?  In 1953 the Swanson Food Company misjudged the number of turkeys to sell and over-ordered the frozen birds by over 26 tons! So they came up with the idea of cooking and packaging the meal with vegetables in an airplane food style aluminum serving tray that could be easily stored in the freezer and easily heated up. Thus, the first TV dinner was born!
