A Woman's View with Amanda Dickson
History: some people were afraid if women had the right to vote, they’d stop caring for their husbands and children. Really.
In 1920, the 19th Amendment made it illegal for states to bar people from voting based on their sex. The constitution has only protected a woman’s right to vote for the last 100 years! Many women and men don’t exercise this right we fought for, but it’s fascinating to understand the history. Some people were afraid if women could vote they would stop caring for their families. KSL Newsradio’s Amanda Dickson talks about this interesting topic on A Woman’s View this week. Her guests are Neylan McBain, co-founder and CEO of Better Days 2020, and Gretchen Day, journalist and author of Olivia’s Tower.
