Who's Who in St. Lou Show

17 - Savor Saint Louis Food Tours

March 24, 2016

Have you ever been on a food tour?
Did you know that there are food tours that you can take in the Central West End and even the Delmar Loop in University City? If not, then let me introduce you to my guests for this episode, Susie Smith and Jennifer Schmid of Savor Saint Louis.
This mother and daughter duo have lived in the St. Louis area now for just over 30 years now after moving here from Chicago and their family owns The Royale St. Louis Bar and Grill in South City but a few years ago they decided to bring food tours here to the St. Louis area.
With tours in two locations, the Central West End and University City, these ladies are doing something I love which is helping share something great about St. Louis with others, whether they are from St. Louis or not. There is ALWAYS something new to learn so make sure to visit SavorSaintLouis.com and learn more about these neighborhoods and get some great food and also walk it off all within a three hour tour.
No apologies if the Gilligan's Island theme song just popped into your head when you read that ;-).

Guest Faves of St. Louis

Favorite St. Louis attraction - Forest Park and everything it has to offer for free. Also the Cherokee Street district.

Favorite restaurant - Niche and Gerard Crafts Restaurant in Clayton. Brasserie. Three Flags Tavern

Favorite thing about St. Louis - Genuine friendliness along with so much to offer from a historic perspective. Also a great food scene and place to raise a family.

What would you like to see St. Louis change? - Would like more people to come to the downtown area to see how nice it really is overall.  Wish more people would recognize that we have such a great history to appreciate.

Specifically for the out of town listener - We have one of the top 5 hospitals in the US, we have a very unique attractions such as the City Museum and think people just need to give the city a chance.

St. Louis fun fact
Did you know that the Screamin' Eagle roller coaster at Six Flags over Mid America is now 40 years old? Also, when it originally opened in April of 1976, this "L" shaped wooden roller coaster was the Guinness World Record holder for just over 2 years for being the fastest (at 62 miles per hour) and the largest (at 110 feet tall) coaster in the world.
I personally still remember riding it for the first time when I was 9, the Eagle and I are the same age by the way, and it is still my favorite roller coaster at Six Flags.
Make sure to get out to Six Flags this summer and take a ride on this classic!
