Steven A. “Andy” Sloane, A.S., is a native of Shreveport, LA. His introduction to the martial arts began with judo in January 1991 while in middle school. On November 1, 1993, as a freshman in high school, he began training in Isshin-ryu karate under Harvey L. Kennedy. Kennedy was his primary instructor until November 2000, but he also briefly trained under Robert Kristensen (1994-1995) and Jared Blackwell (1999-2000) while living in Texas.
