Stanley Cup Winner Bryan Bickell and wife Amanda Bickell talk MS and Life after the NHL
Sure, bringing the Stanley Cup makes you a winner. But sometimes it’s what happens when life throws you a puck to the face that truly makes you a champion.
When former Chicago Blackhawk Bryan Bickell was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in November of 2016, he and his wife Amanda took control of the story: “We decided—this isn’t going to be what stops you playing hockey,” Amanda says.
So Bryan fought to get back to the ice, left the sport triumphantly, and now looks forward to life after the NHL with a whole new set of goals that involve happiness, dogs, and helping others. On today’s episode of #WeGotGoals, the Bickells share how they’ve worked as a team to navigate their new life and offer advice to others faced with major challenges.
