Episode 7: One Size Does Not Fit All

May 18, 2017

Getting on board with the notion that "different is a good," especially when it comes to body size, feels like a revolutionary move. But why? Literally every single body is different and responds differently to food, exercise, shampoo, moisturizer, and even the things that turn us on. Yet, we keep trying to cram our bodies into this one-size-fits-all mold. We compare notes about what "works" to make us all more alike. It makes no sense.  And, for women, every time we think we have a handle on how our bodies work, something like puberty, or child birth, or turning 30, or, for that matter, turning 40, or menopause happens, and suddenly we have to get to know ourselves all over again. Staying healthy and loving ourselves as we are amidst change and comparison is a constant negotiation. It’s exhausting. And worst of all, it's all a fairy tale. There is no such thing as "one-size-fits-all."
