110 How Does 1 Idea Turn Into 100+ Franchises? This is the story of Velofix, a Mobile Bike Shop

May 18, 2020

TODAY’S VISIONARY GUEST IS CHRIS GUILLEMET. CHRIS CO-FOUNDED VELOFIX, YOUR LOCAL BIKE SHOP… ON WHEELS!

I'm willing to bet that you’ve seen their trucks driving around your neighbourhood to service your community members, or fixing bikes at a local race weekend.

Velofix has been my go-to bike shop for more than 5 years. As a cyclist & busy entrepreneur, I am on my bike constantly…  but maintenance is not my strong suit. I routinely call my local Velofix Truck, Steve is my guy, and he comes over to give all 3 of my bikes a tune up. It’s seamless. It’s convenient. And it’s such a fun experience to talk to & learn from your mechanic while they work on your bike outside of your home.

Chris is SO generous with his knowledge about starting and scaling a business inside this episode, and it was a true pleasure to hear the story behind the brand.

He is a true visionary.

IT’S PRETTY NEAT TO IMAGINE A CONVERSATION BETWEEN 3 GUYS, CHATTING OVER BEERS, IN A GARAGE.. TURNED INTO WHAT VELOFIX IS TODAY WHICH IS A FLEET OF OVER 100 FRANCHISES ACROSS NORTH AMERICA!

Velofix was launched in 2013 by Chris Guillemet, Boris Martin, and Davide Xausa, who all share a passion for cycling and the common belief that bicycles can help change the world.

The brand’s core mission is to get more people on bikes and solve problems standing in the way of this goal.

Today, velofix is the largest fleet of Mobile Bike Shops in North America with plans to double in size over the next 18 months.
