This week on View from the Gutters our topic work is Black Canary and Zatanna: Bloodspell, a 2014 original graphic novel by Paul Dini and Joe Quinones. The book, which takes place outside of the current New-52 continuity, features the two be-fishnetted heroines investigating a series of murders which surround a retired gang of thieves who Black Canary once befriended. It also explores the friendship between the two characters, from their unlikely first meeting, to joining the Justice League, and through to the modern day.

This is a great story, ideal for younger readers who are interested in the DC universe.
