This week on View from the Gutters our topic work is Thor (2014), by Jason Aaron with art by Russell Dauterman. For this episode we read issues #1-7 and Thor Special #1. Released in the wake of Thor Odinson becoming unworthy of wielding Mjolnir during the events of Original Sin, this new series begins with a mysterious woman lifting the hammer from its resting place on the Moon.

The new Thor--whose secret identity remains a mystery as of the recording of this episode--launches on a series of adventures battling frost giants, Malekith the Accursed, and the Roxxon Corporation under the malevolent guidance of Dario Agger. Meanwhile, the old Thor--now simply called Odinson--struggles with his unworthiness and changing sense of identity, while trying to discover who is beneath Thor's helmet.
