Episode 98 — Shutter, Vol. 1

December 25, 2014

This week on View from the Gutters our topic work is Shutter, by Joe Keatinge and Leila del Duca. It stars Kate Kristopher, a child explorer and adventurer in a world more fantastic than our own filled with robots, talking animal people, flying saucers, ninja ghosts, and a whole lot more. The series begins on Kate’s 27th birthday, ten years after her father’s death and her retirement from adventure. She suffers and attempted kidnapping, and discovers that she has siblings who may be trying to kill her.

This is a hard one to explain, so you’re going to just have to take our word and read it! This series is jam packed with snappy writing, amazing and dynamic artwork, an incredible universe to explore, and a story that you ache to know more about.

Our listener survey is still going on, so if you have not already filled it out you can do so right now and receive a small thank you from View from the Gutters.

In our recommendation section, our hosts nominated Lazarus, Powers, Death: The High Cost of Living, Shazam and the Monster Society of Evil, and Outcast for discussion on the next episode, and our selected title is Lazarus, Vol. 1 & 2.

Our hosts for this episode are Andrew Chard, Tobiah Panshin, Kayleigh Fleeman, Brant Gillihan-Eddy, and Cade Reynolds.
