Episode 95 — Four Eyes

December 03, 2014

This week on View from the Gutters our topic work is Four Eyes, by Joe Kelly and Max Fiumara. It is set in New York City during the Great Depression. Also, there are dragons. First released in 2008, Four Eyes has been released irregularly with four issues released at present, and none in several years. Kelly stated in a tweet from 2012 that issue 5 had been drawn and #6 was in production, but neither have yet to see the light of day.

The story of Four Eyes follows a young boy named Enrico, whose father is killed while hunting dragons. Now the man of the house, Enrico searches for ways to provide for himself and his mother. He discovers more about his father’s past as he is slowly dragged into the world of illegal underground dragon-fighting.

In our recommendation section, our hosts nominated Archer and Armstrong, Pinocchio Vampire Slayer, Gladstone School for World Conquerers, Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom: Triumph & Torment, and Sovereign for discussion on the next episode, and our selected title is Sovereign.

Our hosts for this episode are Andrew Chard, Joe Preti, Brant Gillihan-Eddy, Tobiah Panshin, and Cade Reynolds.
