Bill McKibben's climate advice for Biden
The climate crisis continues to break records. 2020 and 2016 are officially tied as the hottest years in recorded history, and the last six years are the hottest six on record. The impacts of these extremes are evident. The Atlantic hurricane season saw a record 30 named storms, and the worst wildfire season ever in the Western U.S. blackened over 10 million acres. Globally, the Arctic is melting at a record pace and historic wildfires swept Australia, Siberia and elsewhere.
Bill McKibben, founder of the global grassroots climate action group 350.org and a contributing writer to the New Yorker, has long been at the center of the climate fight, raising awareness with his writing and leading protest movements. MicKibben discuss the deepening climate crisis, the state of the fossil fuel divestment campaign, and what climate actions he wants to see the Biden Administration pursue in its first 100 days.
