VZ 053 - The Soy Controversy
To soy or not to soy, that is the question!
Soy is an ancient food source. It’s been used in Asia for 5000 years. 3000 years ago, fermentation techniques were developed that helped to make soy more easily digestible, in the form of miso, tempeh and tamari. Tofu came along in China in the second century. First cultivated in the US in the nineteenth century, US crops now account for at least half of the world’s soybean production.
Whether or not to include soy in a healthy diet is a great example of an issue with lots of contradictory information out there. In this episode of the Vegetarian Podcast, we share some popular concerns about and benefits of including soy products in your diet.  Our hope is that by providing unbiased information, you will be better able to decide whether soy is right for you.
