Podcast 18 – Managing for Success with Beth Launiere
University of Utah head coach Beth Launiere has led that program for more than 30 years. In that time she's won over 500 matches and led her teams to the NCAA tournament on 16 occasions, including four trips to four Sweet 16s. She guided the program through the challenging transition from the Mountain West Conference to the PAC-12, and in 2019 earned Coach of the Year honors in that conference.
This conversation relates mainly to the book Stop Competing and Start Winning that Beth co-authored in 2020 with Leo Hopf. It's the first management book written from a volleyball perspective, which is awesome! There are enough out there based on football, basketball, and other sports.
As I note in the interview, Beth was also on the MasterCoaches Weekly Buzz to talk about the book. You'll also hear me reference From the Ashes.
