Episode 21: 7 Sure Fire Signs You Have the Right Mindset to Achieve Your Goals!
How do you know if your mindset is in line with your goals? There are a lot of good habits you can create to make sure you stay on track in mindset during your pursuit of being a valiant woman.
Sign #1 – You’re making forward progress and you can recognize that
If you’re moving toward your goals, and you can let yourself enjoy the small victories, then you have the right mindset. If you’re stalled, then something likely is mismatched in your plans. You can’t have a goal to change the world and a mindset of “I’ll start right on that… tomorrow…” and expect to see change today.
Sign #2 – You’re ok with setbacks
You have a plan, but when things come up or get rough, do you lose it, or adapt? If you can generally adapt without complaining, then your mindset is flexible and willing to live in grace instead of defeat. Your mindset definitely is a positive reflection of whatever goals you may have.
Sign #3 – You aren’t accepting of failure
You’ve learned to push forward because your goals are worth it, and lean on God’s strength when you are pushed to your limits. Your mindset is a hopeful one. Failure, then, just isn’t an option, as you walk in faith.
Sign #4 – You haven’t quit learning
Sometimes it’s tempting to say you’re a subject expert and can’t learn from anyone else, but if you are willing to learn and keep growing along the way, you will find many different resources to assist you. Having a mindset of continual learning helps you reach your goals.
Sign #5 - You don’t look back to measure your future successes
While it’s tempting to compare your past self with your future self, you can be content with not knowing how things will come out and just giving your all now. Your past should be given to God, who is merciful and forgiving and pleased with your work to honor Him now.
Sign #6 - You don’t look around to measure your success now
Comparing yourself to others is not a healthy mindset in the long run. If you start looking around at others’ progress then you won’t be focusing on the things that God has uniquely for you, and that’s a huge problem. Comparison, a natural human tendency, is just not helpful in the end unless you use it to push yourself to do your best.
Sign #7 – You are passionate
Now, not every day are you going to feel 100% pure excitement about your goals, but, if you are passionate about your goals, you will let that passion carry you and drive you forward even when you are having a rough day or time period along the way. A passionate mindset encouraged that passion to develop and be a major contributor to how you feel and think about your goals.
Your mindset truly has so much to do with not only if and when you reach your goals, but also what you gain along the way. If you can keep your mindset positive, hopeful, focused, passionate, open towards change, determined, and dedicated, then you will surely reap much benefit along the way as well as reach your goals in the end!
