#266 Target size

July 01, 2021

From this summer, target size is going to become something we hear much more about. In this topic show, we look into what it is, what it means, why we’re going to start hearing more about it, and how this will impact design work (and design discussions).

Target size was introduced as a criteria in WCAG2.1, and is due to be joined by target size (minimum) in WCAG2.2 this summer. Criteria 2.5.8 target size (minimum) will be a AA success criteria, which in practice will mean that many more designers will need to think about target size and learn to design with the criteria in mind.
