Nick Thorburn is a singer, a writer, a guitarist and a graphic novelist. His book "Penguins" was published by Fantagraphics and released in 2018. In the previous year he wrote and directed the short film "That Dog" featuring Michael Cera, Janicza Bravo, Andrea Riseborough, Jon Daly and Tim Heidecker. He is also widely known for his score of the massively popular podcast Serial.  Nick is a singer and guitarist for the bands Islands, Mister Heavenly and The Unicorns. He grew up in British Columbia and now resides in Los Angeles. In this episode he tells us about how he found himself in a near amber alert situation at a WalMart and how his friend and roadie disappeared for 24 hours in the middle of winter in Baltimore.
