We sat down with Joseph Hickey Sr., a true OG in the hemp movement and someone who’s been fighting for the environment long before it was trending. Back in the early ’90s, Joe was one of the first to push for hemp legalization in the U.S., and he’s got the stories to prove it.

From helping organize the first International Hemp Conference to working with Kentucky lawmakers on landmark legislation, Joe’s been in it for the long haul. He even teamed up with Woody Harrelson to plant hemp on purpose and illegally, as a bold act of protest that helped spark real change.
