This Developer's Journey ep.20
Tiffany’s Books
I finally finished YDKJS Up & Going. Going to talk a little bit about that.
Scopes & Closures, another YDKJS book by Kyle Simpson, the book I’m currently reading.
Quick JavaScript Interview Questions by Sandeep Patel
Nick’s Books
I’m a news junkie, so I don’t read too many books. I’ve been pretty caught up following politics and the elections.
I’ve been on-and-off browsing the GOF Design Patterns.
Picks
Nick’s Picks
CodeRunner 2
Great app to run random snippets on.
Also great alternative to terrible Java-based beginner’s IDEs.
Tweetbot 4 for iOS (iPad!!!)
Macs Fan Control: Had an overheating scare when I installed El Cap. For some reason my fans stopped working and my CPU almost reached 200 degrees. This app has some fine-grain control that other fan control apps lack and it’s free.
Slack: Believe it or not, just tried it a week ago. Love at first type.

JS Hint
I am on the JS bandwagon and so I use this to check for errors.
My original pick was JS Lint, should you need that.
WebStorm IDE
As I learn more about IDEs I find that I like this one a lot for web work. I still have a ton of tutorials to watch about IDEs, though. *Nick: I use this at work.*
Marvin eBook Reader for iOS
By far the best app for serious readers. The dev is branching out to other areas and doesn’t update the app as much. It’s an epub only reader.
