Properly disposing of outdated electronic equipment is important because they can contain toxic chemicals that leach into groundwater. According to EPA.gov, recycling them also helps to recover valuable resources. “For every million cell phones we recycle, 35 thousand pounds of copper, 772 pounds of silver, 75 pounds of gold and 33 pounds of palladium can be recovered.” Check local listings for electronic recycling options near you.
