Motivation From Having The Courage To Speak Freely

September 30, 2025

Having the courage to stand up and speak freely about your beliefs takes something most don’t recognize until its price is paid. Freedom of speech sounds like a promise—but in practice it’s not without cost. It means risking ridicule, backlash, alienation, and sometimes, tragically, more than that.

Recently, the life of Charlie Kirk became a somber testament to this harsh truth. Kirk, a political activist known for his outspoken views, was assassinated while speaking at a public event at Utah Valley University. Beliefs are not private; they shape how we live, what we fight for, and who we align with. And when you stand for something that challenges others or disrupts the status quo, there will always be resistance. Some resist with words. Some with actions. The cost of silence is high—regret, loss of identity, dreams unspoken. But the cost of speaking out, of holding your ground, can be dangerous.

Still, courage demands we do it anyway. Because if we never risk speaking our truth, we lose not just our voice—but ourselves.
