Recently, the Missouri Mavericks announced veteran sports reporter and the host of the Kansas City Royals pre and post game shows, Joel Goldberg would be the television announcer for nine Mavericks home games this season to air on KSMO TV-62 beginning Friday, November 11 against the Fort Wayne Komets.

We chatted about how Goldberg got into sports, his early days in the business, the lean years with the Royals, the 2014 & 2015 seasons and more importantly, what he & color commentator Simon Watson will bring to the broadcast plus where he thinks the Mavericks fit in the hierarchy of sports in the Kansas City area.
